Considered the surprise winner at Monday night's Canadian Country Music Awards, B.C. born singer/songwriter, Dean Brody dominated over the competition by taking home three of the night's biggest honours.

Taking to the winners' podium at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton as the recipient of the 'Single of the Year', 'Album of the Year' and 'Songwriter of the Year', the singer admits that out of the three awards he won he was the most proud of his songwriter trophy.

"That's where I first started, telling stories," said Brody in a quote from the Hamilton Spectator. "That's my passion."

Since the release of his sophomore album "Trail in Life" earlier last month, the 36 year old has been riding high on the success of his autobiographical song of the same name.

After a few days of rest, the award winning singer/songwriter will hit the road with Aaron Lines and Deric Ruttan for the CMT Hitlist Tour.  Kicking off in Kelowna, B.C. on September 22, the tour will roll into 26 cities across Canada.  In this special concert initiative, fans get to vote on the cover songs they want to hear Brody, Lines and Ruttan perform.
