Biography
Rebekka Paige is an 19 year old up and coming country singer from Eastern Ontario. Rebekka has her own unique style of singing and in comparison to other artists, she shares a distinct sound between Emmylou Harris and Natalie Maines. March 2010, Rebekka traveled to Nashville, TN to write with Crystal Shawanda for Rebekka's next CD project. In the past, she has opened for Terri Clark, 2007 CCMA Group of the Year, Emerson Drive, Crystal Shawanda, CMT Plucked winners, Ambush, Canadian Idol Runner up, Jaydee Bixby, Crystal Gage and Deric Ruttan. She has also played on the same ticket as Johnny Reid, Carol Baker, Desert Heat and the Road Hammers. She was interviewed on Chevy Top 20 Countdown with Casey Clarke that aired on Oct 24th/08 @ the Gibson Guitar Centre in Toronto.
A very modest person, Rebekka admits it was daunting the first time she had to sing in front of her peers at the age of 12 at her school talent show, but her nerves were calmed when she was surprised with a standing ovation. Now, comfortable in front of the microphone, she immerses herself into her art, singing.
Rebekka's first CD titled, Rebekka Paige was released May 2008 and was recorded at Audio Valley Studio in Perth, ON produced by Keith Glass of Prairie Oyster and mixed and mastered by Steve Foley. The first single Good Riddance, was released to radio May 7th, 08. Good Riddance is recieving air play on country stations accross Canada and Upstate New York, USA.
Rebekka's second single released from the CD, called Watch Your Back was released on Aug 08. It was written by Paige and 2008 Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Keith Glass.
Girls Like Fast Cars To was released to Canadian Country Radio and charted at #84 (CANCOUNTRY).
Rebekka’s goals are to sing and perform professionally; sing her own material and develop her writing skills. She is currently working on writing material for her next album to be released in 2010.
