Brooklyn Roebuck

Biography

Brooklyn’s love for country music began at a very young age.  Live country music was played at every family gathering while growing up. It wasn’t unusual to be sitting around the kitchen table or by a camp fire with guitars in hand and everyone singing along.

There is a long line of musicians and singers in the Roebuck family. Every year Brooklyn’s dad and grandpa would enter into a very popular singing competition in town. Brooklyn, being very young at the time, was keen on winning one of the shiny trophies so she decided to take a shot at competing. That was the beginning of Brooklyn’s career in country music.

Brooklyn competed for a number of years in various contests with great success. Then in 2012 she decided to enter a nationwide televised competition. In September of that year, Brooklyn won the cross-country search “YTV’s The Next Star Season 5”.   The finale was held live at Canada’s Wonderland north of Toronto, where over 3 million viewers voted and ultimately crowned Brooklyn the winner!

Since winning this nationwide competition many doors have opened for Brooklyn. In December 2012, Brooklyn entered into her first recording agreement with Corus Entertainment/Country Music Television. Her music videos have appeared on CMT, YTV and Juicebox television. She has been interviewed on ET Canada and she has performed on Breakfast Television in Toronto.

Brooklyn was invited to perform on CMT’s Christmas special, “The Gift of Giving 2012”. Her rendition of “O Holy Night” was an emotionally moving experience for many in the audience.  The show helped raise awareness about Food Banks across Canada.

In addition to her musical career, Brooklyn has been awarded many incredible opportunities with YTV. She has hosted YTV’s Big Fun Movies for ‘Brooklyn’s Girls Night Out’ and ‘Brooklyn’s Movie Night’. She has also appeared as a guest star on the YTV’s children’s series “Life with Boys” and for a YTV star studded ‘March Break Out Take Out’ game show also starring Tara Oram. Brooklyn hosted YTV’s The Zone and interviewed hopefuls at The Next Star Season 6 auditions in Toronto.  She has been asked to come back as a guest host for YTV’s Big Fun Movies for six weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays this year.

Brooklyn’s latest venture has been the release of her “Storyteller EP” which came out October 4 of this year. For more information on Brooklyn, visit www.brooklynroebuck.com
