Paul and Camilla Cook met while studying Music at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Combining their two different backgrounds, the musical duo creates songs with a purpose.
With an overall goal to find stories, poems, or themes that tell an important message and move the listener, Paul and Camilla have set music to “In Flander’s Fields” for Remembrance Day/Veteran’s Day. Written by Colonel Lieutenant John McCrae during World War I, Paul admits that he wanted to revive this special poem.
“We wanted to breathe new life into this famous poem by combining sensitive vocal arrangements with visuals from World War I and the Colonel Lieutenant John McCrae monument, which stands here in Guelph,” said Cook. “So far, schools and organizations across the globe have used it for their Nov. 11th ceremonies, and we’re honoured CMT is sharing this on their website.”
Blind Colour has also released a song entitled “Slow Dance,” which helps raise funds for The Canadian Cancer Society. For every sale of the downloadable song, $0.50 will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of cancer research.
Blind Colour’s music can be found on their YouTube channel and on iTunes.
