Biography
Darren has won numerous awards and competitions. In 2003, Darren represented New Brunswick at the Canadian Youth Star Search held in Regina, Sask. In 2005, Darren was chosen as New Brunswick’s Next Country Star and given the opportunity to perform at the Gala Dinner during the Canadian Country Music Awards held in Calgary, AB. Since then, he has opened for numerous artists including The Road Hammers, Doc Walker, Aaron Prichett, Duane Steel, Jamie Warren and Patricia Conroy.
Darren has just completed his first album entitled “What’s Your Story” with the first single scheduled to be released to radio January 5th, 2009. This album was produced by Jason Barry of Barrytone Studios in St. Clements, ON. Jason Barry originates from Miramichi, NB so it was nice to see such East Coast collaboration. His album will include original material as well as chosen works from Duane Steele, Willie Mack, Tommy Gilham, JK Gully and a rockin’ cover of Ed Bruce’s “Mama’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys”. This CD will be available in stores across Canada on March 3rd, 2009 with a one of a kind CD release party to be held at Saint John’s historical Imperial Theatre. It is only fitting that Darren will showcase his accomplishments on this stage as this is where it all began. At the young age of 24 critics say with hard work and ongoing support of the Industry, Darren could be the next big thing in country music in Canada.
