Sweet N' Gritty. That's PEAR!!
After fronting one of the most successful fiddle acts in the world, Lynae and Denis Dufresne took time off the road to start a domestic life in Calgary, AB. They quickly became antsy.
In 2005 they formed pop/country/roots act PEAR. With Lynae as the songstress and Denis as the musical backbone, PEAR quickly developed a grass roots following in both Canada and the U.S. They are full time professional musicians and have lent their instrumental and vocal abilities to some of Canada's biggest acts. Some of these include: Deric Ruttan, Aaron Pritchett, Tom Jackson, One More Girl, Adam Gregory, Jason Blaine, Tara Oram, Michelle Wright, Victoria Banks, Gil Grand, Duane Steele, Johnny Reid, Kalan Porter, Destino, Marc Jordan and numerous others.
In 2005, just 2 months after forming the band, PEAR was asked to be part of the CMT original series "Plucked". In a voting competition, PEAR placed 2nd and were given their first video for the song "Never Lookin' Back". PEAR has recently finished production on their debut CD which was recorded throughout several parts of Canada and in Nashville, TN. With some of their musical heroes and a number of good friends, PEAR has blended their love for bluegrass/jazz/pop and country music into a stellar recording of original material.
